Eric only ever intended to write a maximum of 3 books but was persuaded to write a fourth, 'Sail, Race & Win', which he never quite finished before his untimely death in 1980, although it was eventually published posthumously. The books, in the order that they were written, are as follows:

Dinghy Team Racing - first published by Adlard Coles in 1971, this book is no longer in print but can be purchased from 2nd hand booksellers. It was regarded at the time as the definitive work on this specialised form of sailing.

Start to Win - Eric's best known publication and arguably his finest, it was first published by Adlard Coles in 1974. Having been out of print for 20 years the Trust was then granted the author's copyright to this classic text and Adlard Coles Nautical agreed to re-publish it - which they did in August 2009. The book can be obtained in paperback or EPUB format from Adlard Coles Nautical (Part of Bloomsbury Publishing) or from other outlets. This 3rd Edition included new artwork and diagrams and incorporated a foreword by Ben Ainslie, together with an updated rules section by Bryan Willis to align with the then ISAF 2009-2012 rules.

The Rules Book - first published by Adlard Coles in 1979, this book is now in its 11th Edition and is currently available as a paperback or in EPUB format from Adlard Coles Nautical (part of Bloomsbury Publishing) or from other outlets as "Complete 2017 -2020 Rules". It has been updated and revised by Bryan Willis, a former Eric Twiname Trust Trustee, to take account of the changes since the 2013-2016 rules.

Sail, Race and Win - this book is all about the psychology of winning but Eric died before finishing it. Cathy Foster then completed the task in 1982 but it is no longer in print and can only be obtained from 2nd hand booksellers. The English publisher was London Nautical Books (part of MacMillan) and it was also published by the American publisher Boston Sail Books.
